Can I do your course in my first trimester? If you feel well enough then the answer is yes!!
Some days you may feel like just doing the meditations or the modifications.
Despite what you may read, yoga is very safe in all stages of pregnancy if you are well and remember to listen to your body. If you are unsure, ask your care provider and let them know that the course is gentle yoga and there is no jumping or postures that will put excess strain on your body.
Is yoga safe for everyone?
Yes, yoga is safe for every body. It is important to always listen to your body.
If something doesn’t feel right, it isn’t!
There are plenty of classes on this course that every woman can do.
I’m having a caesarean – should I still do the course?
Yes. The time of pregnancy is beautiful and your body needs to move in a different way than normal. The course will help you to connect with yourself and your baby. The postures will allow you to keep your body and mind healthy so you can enjoy your pregnancy.
I have a low-lying placenta. Is there anything I shouldn’t do?
It is essential to speak to your care provider before starting this course.
Avoiding deep squats and postures that have a downward pressure on your pelvis should be avoided.
Will this course be helpful if I’m being induced?
Absolutely yes! Contractions usually come quicker and more intense early on in labour when you are induced. Having techniques such as vocal toning and birth positions will really support you during an induced labour. I highly recommend this course for woman who are being induced.
Will this course be helpful if I plan to have an epidural?
Yes. You may decide to have some of the labour at home, or, you get to the hospital and have to wait for a time until you can be administered the epidural. You will need some skills to support you up until the time you choose or can have an epidural.
This course is about enjoying your pregnancy, connecting to your baby and preparing yourself for motherhood
Are meditations included in the course content?
Yes there are mediations and relaxation classes in this course. I recommend you see all the classes as either a moving meditation or still meditation. Birth is a mind game and observing the mind during your practice is important preparation for birth. The body knows how to birth, its often the mind that can go towards negative thought patterns “ I can’t do this “ and then the body reacts to those thoughts.
I highly recommend finding yourself some positive affirmations to write down and have in your birthing room to keep your mind and body positively birthing.
Are there any women for whom the course is not recommended?
My intention in putting together all my years of knowledge and experience into this course, is to make it accessible to all women. Not matter how fit, fat, thin, how many months pregnant or even if it’s a second, third or fourth pregnancy, there is something for every woman.
I wish for all women to have beautiful and memorable times in each pregnancy.
I hope that every woman is given the tools to be able to deeply connect to themselves and their babies and prepare for birth and motherhood feeling safe and nurtured.
